Moving, breathing and living your pregnancy with confidence
Pregnancy is a period of profound transformation. As the months go by, the body changes, sensations change, and taking time for yourself becomes essential.
Prenatal yoga is a gentle practice specially adapted to pregnant women. It combines movement, breathing, stretching, relaxation and body awareness to support the body throughout pregnancy.
Accessible to all, it requires no previous experience of yoga.
Who is it for?
Prenatal yoga is for all pregnant women who wish to:
- maintain appropriate mobility during pregnancy;
- relieve tension in the back, pelvis or shoulders;
- improve their breathing;
- cope better with bodily changes;
- take a moment to relax;
- prepare calmly for the birth.
Sessions are adapted to the stage of pregnancy and to each woman’s needs.
The benefits of prenatal yoga
Prenatal yoga helps, in particular, to:
- develop better body awareness;
- improve mobility and suppleness;
- learn breathing techniques that are useful during pregnancy and childbirth;
- reduce physical tension;
- promote relaxation and letting go;
- build confidence in your body.
A complementary approach to osteopathy
Prenatal yoga is a natural complement to osteopathy sessions.
While osteopathy supports the body through manual techniques adapted to pregnancy, yoga allows the mother-to-be to take an active role in her wellbeing through movement, breathing and relaxation.
The two approaches complement each other and are part of an overall vision of women’s health.
